Trail Running
Trail running is a very broad term that includes everything from running an easy path through the local park to an epic ultra race that traverses a mountain range. Our focus is on running as a means of exploring the wild, “Adventure Running”, rather than running for competition.
With that is emphasis on technical skills, endurance, & self-reliance in the backcountry.
Choosing the right gear for the terrain (shoes, poles, hydration system)
Learning the skills for running over a variety of terrain (rocks, boulders, slabs, mud, snow)
Physical training and conditioning for sustained endurance activity.
Route planning and logistics (navigation, weather, nutrition, water supply, emergencies)
Learn to enjoy running as a means to explore and develop the experience and skills to be prepared for any adventure.
The Adirondacks provides some of the most beautiful and difficult trails for running that you’ll ever encounter. While we don’t have the altitude or extreme remoteness of some other areas, we do have extremely technical unmaintained trails that will humble even the most seasoned trail runner.
